Reggae music was not officially recognized as a genre of music until the1960s. Reggae music is a blend of traditional Jamaican music and R&B music. Reggae music is based off of rhythm and off-accent beats. One of the most famous reggae artists was Bob Marley, who has the most famous reggae songs to this day, even after is death in 1981. Some of the key instruments in reggae music are the horns, drums, bases, and guitars.
Reggae music has a very distinctive sound. In my opinion, you either like it or you don't. All of reggae music, in my opinion is extremely similar. Most of the songs have a slow beat with Jamaican sounding vocalist. The sound of the music is very relaxing and calming. Reggae music may not be for everyone, however some people really enjoy it.
